The Condo is in Escrow.

No pictures right now, because so much is happening, including far too many winds to go out and photograph the neighborhood.

But we accepted an offer, and now there is just the usual paperwork, etc. — which can be time-consuming these days with all the rules & regulations. Especially new regulations regarding Covid.

But things are moving along. In just under three weeks we clear out the condo and move to a B&B, and on the 21st we board for Portugal. On the 19th we go for Covid tests, because a negative reading is required within 72 hours of boarding.

Between now and then there are the good-byes. (Sniff.) But we are promised lots of visitors once it is Covid-safe to travel again.

I'll post again before we leave, and maybe even with pictures!

Yope you all are safe and healthy and the same for your loved ones.

  5. Thanks, everyone. It really is coming together quickly. We even have a buyer for our car. We are very grateful. We hope this is "a sign." :-) Even though so far everything is moving smoothly, our scheduling has been pretty intense. I think by the time we board, it will be one of the few times we can actually sleep on the plane.

  6. Congratulations! That is great news. I hope you and Rajan can complete your vaccines before you get on that plane! Stay well and stay in touch.

  7. Hi, Rosi. We have to show a negative Covid Test result for a test within 72 hours of boarding. I'm not sure, but I think having a vaccination could leave a positive result. And our time constraints are such that we don't have time for the two vaccinations, anyway. So we are going to wait for Portugal. We looked up the two countries, and the case reates are about the same (2%) so I don't think we are increasing our danger.

  9. Hi, Kate. Yes, we feel very lucky that everything seems to be dovetailing. We are very happy about the young couple buying the condo. They are eager and enthusiastic, and that's the kind of response we want the new owners to have, as we liked it so much. It's hard to believe, but three weeks from today we board.

  11. Thanks, Jess. The house inspection and pest inspection were today, and the buyer's agent told our agent that it all went well.

  13. Thank, Sandra. We are actually all packed and living out of suitcases until we move to the B&B. It is definitely a strange feeling, but time is ticking by quickly. We have a couple of trips to take to Goodwill in the next 2 weeks. I will be so ready to get on that plane!

  14. Hi, Vicki. It was more exciting when I first posted this. Two days ago the buyers pulled out. Cold feet. (They were in Seattle, planning to move back to Sacramento.) So it's on the market again. Sigh. We hope to sell it before we leave, but if not, our super agent will have Power of Attorney to sell it afterward. Asi es la vida.
