A Few Last Fleeting Moments of Braga

These are mainly street events that captured our interest as we walked around Braga for three days. In addition to some street performers, there were locals all dressed up and walking around seeing the sights themselves. Then there were the school groups. Lots of them, although I only caught two of them here.

And a couple more performances of interest on stage. The first was dramatic. The second was a musical group.  I loved all the music that was going on.

That ideal audience member performers appreciate!

I hope you've enjoyed these last scenes of Braga Romana. Which happenings
did you find the most interesting, performances or street scenes?

  1. Thank you for taking us with you.
While I really appreciate the performances I am sucker for the unrehearsed reality of street scenes.

  2. Hi, Elephant's Child. I know what you mean. It was so much fun to keep encountering Roman soldiers, women in togas, jugglers, street musicians, and all the little school groups dressed up like ancient days. Even the servers at cafes were in costume. I have to say, they really know how to have fun!

  4. Hi, Rosi, wasn't he a cutie/ He was so into the performance. I have about three more pictures of him in various stages but thought I would just go with this one. I could just hug him.

  7. Hi, Jess. Yes, the costumes! That's what makes everything so "merry". You are served wine at an outdoor cafe by a man in a toga with a laurel wreath atop his head — and an apron. And the street performers really were entertaining.

  8. You take the most beautiful pictures, putting the reader at the scene. Such interesting places you visit. The horse is beautiful. I am a horse lover. All of the scenes make me want to be there. Thank you for sharing your holidays.

  9. Beverly, I loved that horse, too. Up close, he was just gorgeous — and very calm. Horses are such intelligent creatures. I'm an animal person: dogs, cats, horses, burros, cows. I'm glad you liked the pictures.

  13. Hi, Crystal. If you like re-enactment events, you would have really enjoyed this one. We kind of wore ourselves out running around trying to see everything, but it was worth it.
