Latest from the Art Class

Last Saturday's art show can be viewed on my Victorian Scribbles blog HERE

Meanwhile, in yesterday's art class we used colored pencils on pastel paper to capture wild animals and birds. Enjoy.

The class will be over on April 12th, sigh. But it's been a great year with these students.

This is a special project of mine that is a nice balance to writing and research, huddling over the keyboard all day. What projects take you out of your writing cave to balance out your week?

  3. These are all lovely, but I do have a favorite. The yellow-breasted bird second down on the right is particularly well done. Thanks for the post,

  6. Hi, Natalie. Thank you for your kind comments. I'm not sure how talented I am, although I do like to paint and draw at times. But I love teaching such talented kids. I hope your writing is going well. I'll be eager to read your work when it comes out. Thanks for stopping by.

  8. Sketching is one of my favorite things to do. It helps me relax and rejuvenate my creative juices.

Love seeing the work done by the students in your class. :)

  9. Jess, even though I tell the kids to sketch first and then continue with drawing, I have a hard time doing that. I envy you. My quick sketches always are labored. They are kind of sneaky drawings.

  10. Sandra, how neat that your grandkids have Dragonella. Thank you! Meanwhile, I love this class. I have a little pang inside, in that I'd love to put some of their latest work in the show, but it's too late.

  12. Hello, Nas. Thanks for the kind words. Actually, the kids are the ones who are so creative and talented. They come up with surprises every time. We have class again today, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera are our inspirations today, and I can hardly wait to see what the kids will do with the lesson.
