Yes, I Know I Should be Blogging, But . . .

I was busy having Xmas holidays with my god family.

Had a great family visit from a nephew & wife from India, their son & wife, and their son .  .  .

Started teaching art club again after the holidays  . . .

Attended two book signings to support writer friends.

Took the tree down . . .

Wrote a picture book about birds and am re-working an MG novel that was hibernating.

But don't give up on me. I will be back to blogging soon.

How about you? Do holidays and projects disrupt your blogging?

  2. Should is a word too many of us use to whip ourselves with.
When you are ready to return to blogging is soon enough.
And I am so glad to hear that you have not only been busy and productive in your absence, but happy too.

  5. I took some time off from blogging as well, but back at it now. It's hard to keep everything going during the holidays, and we need some time to recharge our batteries.

  6. Hi Elizabeth. Oh my! This year they disrupted them horribly! I'm still struggling to get back to some kind of schedule for writing.

Your photos are lovely. The happiest face in them is the little boy! His smile is full of the magic and mischief of this time of year. :-)

I like your writing space, btw.

  7. Hi, Teresa. His name is Navneeth, and he's just the cutest kid! So much energy! I just love him. Glad you like my writing space. It's cramped, but I love it. I have a bigger desk in the room my husband and I use for our shared office, but for some unfathomable reason, I work best at this cramped little space. Go figure. Happy New Year.

  8. Sometimes you just need a break from all the regular stuff you do. I know I enjoyed my 10 internet-free days at the beach and it looks like you've been having a lot of fun too.

  9. Hi, Kate. Well, it has been a lot of fun. And I agree about the value of taking breaks. After all that fun and a little distance, it feels great to be back — both to my blog and also to my novel. Have a great week.

  11. Looks like you had some wonderful gatherings and activities at the end of this past year! Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the photo of your writing space, too. Looks familiar--I bet many of us writers would have spaces that reflect a similar scene, post-it notes and all!

  13. Hello, Kenda, Your comment made me feel less guilty about the chaos on my desk. I do seem to be able to find things that I look for without too much trouble, but still . . . no pristine office this! I visited your blog, and it looks like you had wonderful holidays, too. What brilliant toys you knitted for your grandkids. I'm sure they will treasure them.
