Hi,Tanya, thanks for the good wishes, and I wish the same for you and your family. It was a lovely Xmas here, and I'm enjoying a little leisurely reading before I'm hunched over my computer once again trying to create worlds that don't exist yet. :-)
Hi, Rosi, well I didn't remember racism when I originally read them, but I was clueless about subtle racism back then. The books aren't blatant, but in the one I read yesterday, a boy from India is referred to often as "the little brown boy," and he speaks a pigeon English that is someone generic stereotypical pigeon English that was acceptable back then. That said, it was an exciting read, and I could see all over again why young girls would admire Nancy Drew as much as I did.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Elizabeth.
